Who developed SimpleAssessment PLUS?
SimpleAssessment PLUS was designed with a Technology Assessment Committee of tech coordinators/directors and teachers across the country. As for us? We’re partnered with both Certiport and Microsoft and have been in the business of tech literacy for over 25 years. The questions used in the student technology assessment are directly mapped to the national ISTE NETS for Students and the final assessment has been approved and recommended by the Technology Assessment Committee.
What makes the SimpleAssessment PLUS so simple?
The Technology Assessment Committee told us they needed an easy, effective, measurable way to prove that their students were tech literate. No frills. No headaches. And no strain on the budget! SimpleAssessment PLUS does just that. Simply load your students (we can even help you!) and you’re ready to go! It’s easy to set up, and we even have a team of experts that will help you get started. It’s simple for your students, too. They just log-in and complete the student technology assessment in about one class period. And scores? Don’t worry! SimpleAssessment PLUS does that automatically!
Why should I care about assessing my students?
Besides preparing students for the workforce or higher education - it’s the law! The No Child Left Behind Act, Part D, section 2402, states that all districts must “ensure that every student is technologically literate by the time the student finishes the eighth grade, regardless of the student’s race, ethnicity, gender, family income, geographic location, or disability.” What measurable way is your school proving technology literacy?
Talk to your principal and let them know about SimpleAssessment PLUS. Send them to our website to check it our for themselves. Or, you can talk to your Testing/Assessment Coordinator about an exciting new way to assess and improve your students’ tech literacy!
Who should take SimpleAssessment PLUS?
SimpleAssessment was designed to meet the NCLB requirement of ensuring that every student is technologically literate by the time the student completes the 8th grade. Many districts are testing their students in grades 5 - 8. Starting early allows schools to track improvement over a period of years, and also ensure that students are prepared by the time they reach the eighth grade. Many districts also test their teachers and administrators as well, using our SimpleAssessment (Teacher Edition).
Is the assessment web-based?
Yes.
Is there a management system that includes reporting?
Yes. Each organization will receive a unique Learning Management System (LMS) along with the student technology assessment. The LMS will track and manage the student technology assessment. The reports can be accessed instantly - no waiting for results! Reports can show data by grade level, school, or other groups unique to the organization. All data is stored in the system to allow comparison from year to year, or from pre-assessment to post-assessment. The LMS can also be customized with an organization's logo and matching color scheme.
What types of questions are used in the assessment?
The student technology assessment includes a variety of question types to keep the student engaged. These question types include: Performance Based, Multiple Choice, Matching, Screen Simulation, True/False, and Order of Process.
How much server space does my organization need to host the system?
